I feel incredibly blessed to have started up Raising Rem when I did, as the blogging community really seems to be growing in Port Elizabeth. Obviously, as to be expected from the Friendly City, these bloggers are all about helping others out in growing their blogs, and learning all they can – which is why I jumped at the opportunity to attend the #ECMeetUp.
The #ECMeetUp is all about networking for bloggers and brands in the EC and has grown from about 30 bloggers in 2016 at the first event, to about 80 bloggers at the latest!
The venue for the event was the Fairview Racecourse in Greenbushes. I have only ever been here once before, probably about 15 years ago and really had no clue what to expect of the venue. It was such a pleasant surprise to find such a well-maintained racecourse and venue! It’s absolutely beautiful out there, and made me realize that even living in PE, I don’t know all this city has to offer. We have such amazing tourist spots, and if I lived elsewhere I would definitely be jumping on some cheap flights to Port Elizabeth to check the city out!
Megan Kelly Botha from By Megan Kelly and Lyle Scritten from Versatile Lyle, and Travelstart’s Digital PR Strategist were the two speakers for the day. Megan provided so much useful information from a (very experienced) blogger’s perspective, while Lyle spoke more from a brand’s perspective. I loved how interactive both Megan and Lyle were in their talks, and how much they wanted us to leave with as much information as possible.
A very big thanks has to go to Luchae from My Spreadsheet Brain and Eleanor from Just Ella Bella for all their hard work in putting together this amazing event – I can’t wait for the next #ECMeetUp! If you too would like to join the next event but are from out of town, check out some flights here and join us!
